News for Worship
The forty weekdays between Ash Wednesdays and Easter are a special period of preparation for Christians. During this Lenten season many families plan to spend extra time worshiping together, recalling events in the life of Jesus and thinking about what it means to be a follower of Christ.
You might like to choose a Lenten hymn to be your family hymn for Lent, or choose a new one each week if your family likes to sing. Some people find that the reading together of one of the gospels is helpful; others prefer to follow Bible readings such as those which outline events in the life of Jesus preceding the crucifixion. Lenten devotions need not be long services, but they should be held at regular times and should include the kinds of prayers and Scripture that will be of most help to your own family.
